I just left this rant as a comment on Kevin Wolf's blog. And I'm going to repeat it here. Because if anything like this is happening -- if it's already started -- I want all of you to know that I want to know about it.
I'm dreaming that there are millions of people fed up with this administration. That finally millions of people on both the left and right are fed up with our lack of leadership. I'm dreaming that millions of people want to put a stop to our country's downward spiral.
I know there are millions of Americans, both "refugees* (a term I loathe) and those safely in their homes at this very moment, that realize the only thing that is worse than this administration's arrogance is their incompetence and indifference.
I'm dreaming that millions of people are so fed up that there's a groundswell protest movement building as I type this. And that millions of people from all over the country, spontaneously descend on Washington on Labor Day for a protest.
We could call it the "Freedom Is On The March" protest.
I will carry a sign that says, "It cost me $400 in gas to get here, but throwing you out of office is worth every penny!"
Want to do it? Want to go? Whaddya say?
It's my dream. It's what my heart wants. If anything like this is being talked about, please let me know.
Postscript: More ranting! Think about it. The media's not rolling over. They are challenging our government. Granted, Washington is controlled by Republicans, but they could care less about George W. Bush anymore. He's done. He never has to get elected again. But the rest of them do.
Don't you think a Labor Day protest is a good idea?
It's my dream too blue girl. And if enough on the "right" love America more than they hate liberals, the dream might become real in 2006 or 2008.
