That kid will be a part of my life and I'll know him and be able to get to know him even better as long as I'm alive.

Expectation is easy, when your kid is young. When they are over 30, expectation isn't the main thing you think about or feel. You know they're mostly set in their ways and if they aren't as you hoped for your emotions can be scrambled, melancholy or even negative.

You've fought your way through a very tough couple of years, BG; far as I'm concerned, that makes you one strong woman already. And you're right about BK. He may be on the verge of adulthood, but that makes him no less yours and no less loved. Life changes, that's all. We adapt. The choice is whether we do so with joy or resignation.
